| is that there are a lot of muslims, especially in the middle east, who shrink from publicly denouncing terrorism, at least that committed by other muslims. the problem is that the Quaran does not permit a muslim to denounce another muslim to a non muslim. so denouncing a terrorist publicly, especially to the US or another non islmic country, is comitting apostasy. which this fatwa against Bin Laden does a wonderful job of circumventing by declaring Bin Laden an apostate himself, and no longer muslim. with this as a start, the rest of islam SHOULD start to speak up more. that is the plan, anyway, it seems. |
