Law interpretation question. by techi8702005-03-10 11:37:41
I've had a discussion about this with at least one by techi8702005-03-10 11:54:59

you could transport a firearm in any manner so long as it was unloaded and if in the passenger compartment not concealed. Unloaded was defined as ammunition not attached to the gun. The solution; place empty pistol and loaded magazine in open center console. Problem is many cops thought that was illegal even though the law was VERY clear on the issue. So many people got arrested for having a "loadable" firearm. Which at the time wasn't even illegal. More than one police officer ended up red-faced when the lawyers got let loose.

One acquaintance even won a multi-million dollar wrongful arrest suit after his car was stripped because they refuse to impound it.
