This story has some very gaping logical inconsistencies, especially when contrasted with US standard operating procedures.
Things like the percentage of Muslim / arab descent soldiers in one unit - demographically improbable.
Things like the calling out to Saddam to get him to surrender. Yeah, right! If he is giving a battle, call in the Apache, that is what they are there for. It is what they did with Sadam's sons.
Things like the Marines / Army information disconnect.
Too much does not add up.
That is the opinion from a critical mind. As you state, the problems come from the un-critical minds.
Like the story of the Italian journalist: what she says is suspect due to her bias. However, the reports of the other survivors do indicate that there may be some serious need for questions. |
