remember the "little Eichmanns" Professor re: 9/11 by plblark 2005-03-10 07:04:57
Professor who compared 9/11 victims to Nazis may be offered buyout
Associated Press
March 10, 2005 PROFESSOR

BOULDER, Colo. -— A report says the University of Colorado's governing board is trying to negotiate the resignation of a professor who's compared Sept. 11 victims to Nazis.

Denver television station KCNC says the school's Board of Regents has authorized its lawyers to talk with an attorney representing Ward Churchill. It quotes one regent as saying, "I'm sure there is a price tag that he's talking about, and I'm sure there's one we're talking about.''

Churchill is the tenured ethnic studies professor whose essay ignited a firestorm. He likened some workers who died at the World Trade Center to "little Eichmanns'' because of their participation in what he described as "the mighty engine of profit.''

Adolf Eichmann was the Nazi bureaucrat who helped organize the Holocaust.

PLB: Guess they can't fire him outright, but they CAN get his name seperated from theirs.
