dealing with fear of rejection by dennismv2005-03-10 00:36:06
Ok heres how it works by RoyIreson 2005-03-10 01:12:10
keep in mind this will take some time to get used to. (unless you do it like i did, which involves large quantities of caffiene and a tremendous lack of sleep, and even then it took a while and i dont recommend it) first of all think about what youre going to do. analyze it completely. how does it help you? what do you want to get from it? what are the possible outcomes?
Ok, now think about youre fear. what exactly are you afraid of? the rejection iteself? why? does the word "no" scare you? or perhaps youre afraid of the reprocussions? (this is usually the case). now stop and think, does this fear serve a purpose? how does it help you to achieve your end? if it doesnt help, then its hurting you in someway.
Remember, Fear is a natural reaction, but it isnt always a helpful one. Eventually you can learn to not feel it in most cases. Beware though, apathy was the end result of my efforts. ceasing to feel fear can also cause you to stop feeling alot of things.
