There are multiple supply rails to the mobo by HadEnuf 2005-03-08 18:50:08
WOLable NICs, PHYs and parts of I/O Controller Hub chips used in PCs run on a rail that doesn't go down unless power is removed from the supply, itself. In the case of ICHs, where multiple, PCI devices are integrated into a single chip, the NIC section actually has a separate power well, supplied through different pins. except in some parts intended for mobile products without WOL support.

Yeah, this s4 is my bread and butter, so I guess you could call a part of my ork "electronic plumbing".
