I worked for a loan company for a brief time in California that gave some very high rates to some potentially risky lenders (40%+ IIRC). The rates were so confiscatory that it made me sick. I quit my job out of disgust and went to work for Del Taco to pay the bills while I waited for my entry date to Basic Training to come.

Yup I went from Loan Officer wearing a $300 suit in an air-conditioned office to rolling Burritos in a hot restaurant overnight. It may not have been glamorous, but it felt good to say "I work for Del Taco" vs "I work for (pseudo-loan-shark agency)"
