honey? lemon? ("Throat coat" is an herbal remedy available in the states at health food stores that really works on sore throats -- the active ingredient is slippery elm). If you don't have that, just drinking honey and lemon in hot water will help soothe your throat as well. Maybe enough so you can sleep.
