of learning. But they have to be encouraged to learn. I have seen a study that suggests that one of the reasons black children do not do as well in school as because thier parents depend on the school to do all of the education work. They don't chack homework, encourage the kids, or talkto the school abotu problems. It is not htta educaiton is not important, but black parents are lees likely to get involved, even minimally.
It may be that schools need less money wasted on this years newest technique, and more time and money on rewarding the students for learning, and on letters to parents asking them to talk to their kids about school.
But increasing the minimum wage, or magically providing a good life for all seniors has little to do with this. |
