if my devt load becomes crippling, and I declare myself bankrupt, I KEEP the major debt load.

I currently have a manageable overdraft and about £20,000 in student loans from the Government. Now, if my debt becomes such that I am forced to declare bankruptcy, that student loan debt remains intact. I don't restart at zero; I restart at -£20,000. This is Bad and Wrong, I feel...
