In my parents' neighborhood, every other house sports an Irish flag (and their family who actually immigrated is 2 generations or more in the past). You have a few Polish and Lithuanian flags, as well. Then again, this neighborhood is many the summer homes of Chicago people. Recent immigrants usually can't afford a beach home. Personally I don't understand flying a "heritage" flag if your family members who immigrated died before you were born. But hey, that's just me.
Through most of the country, no one would blink if you flew your flag. Would probably even be a conversation piece. You just fell in with the nutjobs, as evidenced by their devotion to their lawns. :P |
