Can you upgrade your laptop graphics by whiteknite2005-03-08 05:11:40
Depends on the laptop... by jmaxsohmer 2005-03-08 05:43:04
AFAIK, most Toshiba laptops have actual graphics cards in them (albeit miniaturized versions) and actual sticks of RAM (again miniaturized). Theoretically it should be possible to have the video card swapped - but have it done professionally, otherwise you may void your warrantee, and laptops are a b5 to work on anyway.

Even if your laptop isn't a Toshiba, check with the manufacturer anyway. But don't be disappointed if the graphics card is hardwired onto the motherboard - that's the case with most laptops. And even if they say it can be swapped DO NOT TRY TO DO IT YOURSELF. It's not a pretty process. Leave it to a professional who will replace your laptop if he screws it up.
