Just ring up your real estate agent and ask for the owners contact details. Failing that try going through the council to find out who the property belongs to and get details that way. I agree with you as far as not trusting the real estate agent. From experience in Brisbane most real estate agents do not contact the owner on things like this and just say NO to pets. worse comes to worse just get the cats and say nothing about it ;)
