Fun with frankenputers by Egaeus2005-02-28 15:40:56
Wow, the PPro brings back memories by Freakazoid 2005-02-28 18:38:25
namely of my first job (between junior and senior years of High school) as a programming intern. The machine that I used was a PPro 200 w/ 128 Meg of ram (upgraded to 256 myself) running NT4

and that was the machine I did lots of data crunching*. I would regularly fire off jobs and sneak off for a ice cream bar. Got asked once in awhile "shouldn't you be working?" to which my response was "I am, technically" :)

*reading through large cobol (*shudder*) files looking for stuff. (used VB4 at the time) or driving a mainframe session via terminal emulator doing something. I forget what it was, but it was quite repetitive and only needed a list as input, so I wrote a program to do it for me (it "typed" into the terminal emulator session to the mainframe) then I just fired it off and wandered off for a bit
