Lucky you. If I tried to walk or bike to work (3 miles from my apartment to office), I would be suicidal for doing so. A major university is the same distance from my place, and there are no crosswalks to speak of in this city. Pedestrians are simply a non-entity.

The H2 plant is not far off either, so we have more than our fair share of suburban monstrosities hogging the road. It's not entirely that Americans are fat and lazy; we just don't want our last sight in life to be an SUV's hood ornament.
