of freedom. Freedom from fear of what admittedly has much less chance of killing somebody than a traffic accident. Freedom from violations of their basic rights as citizens.

Those who fear, and agree with the new law, seem to believe that only terrorists will be targeted by the powers granted by this law. At first, maybe. But just wait five or ten years - rights that are given away are very hard to regain. And the terrorist threat is not going to go away just because of this loss of freedom.
