A friend of mine got his hands on... by jmaxsohmer 2005-02-28 14:10:22
...and alpha copy of Longhorn. He offered to let me be the first to try it, but I decided that might not be incredibly wise. It took them how many years to get XP right? And even now it still poops out fairly often.

What's interesting is that they seem to be sticking with the name Longhorn - instead of calling it Windows 2006 or some other derivation of their usual, Microsoft is supposedly calling their newest brain-child (brain-fart, perhaps?) "Longhorn XP".

If I had a spare computer I didn't need I'd love the opportunity to play around with it, but I can't afford to screw up this one and the laptop doesn't even run XP well.

Oh, and the reason he doesn't try it himself is that he's got an iBook - he does have a couple WinME and Linux boxen back home, but he only has Apples here.
