So I want a new job before tomorrow by Zzyzzx2005-02-28 10:27:54
  Clarification by Zzyzzx 2005-02-28 12:46:55
Greetings!!

I want to clear something up that I left vague.

This photo thing is not for security. If we were having pictures for badges or something, I could at least understand it. This is being made so the CEO can have an online photo album of his employees.

Having worked here for 4 years, I think I can say that he will never look at it. He made an offhand comment several months ago about not recognizing people he saw in the elevator, and maybe a photo album would help him. I took it as a jest, apparently other people took it seriously. What's he going to do, run to his desk and browse through the photos to get the person's name so he can go back and say "Hi Joe"? No.

He's not aware of everyone who works for the company for other reasons, not the least of which is that we are growing quickly, with continued growth expected. He also isn't involved in the normal day-to-day operations, so he doesn't see every accountant, or HR assistant that gets hired. It just won't happen. Making an online photo directory so people can look at pictures of the employees will not change this. So my objection to having my picture taken is being ignored for what I feel is a junk reason.
