Greetings!!
Well, my place of employment is doing something that deeply bothers me. I am being required to have my photo taken for a company directory. According to what I have found out, they are legally within their rights to require photos for identification purposes, and so I have no real grounds to fight this. I truly and deeply dislike having my photo taken. However, I am unwilling to lie about this, making some bogus "violation of religous beliefs" claim, and just not liking it is insufficient grounds.
I simply did not go the first time our department was scheduled for photos, but an email was sent out that our Director was very disappointed that people did not make time to attend the scheduled session, and expects everyone who missed it to be there for a rescheduled session tomorrow. Apparently I am not the only one who skipped it, including my Manager who had to talk to me and tell me I needed to go, while not wanting to go himself.
I have determined that I want to have a new job so I can refuse to have my photo taken and hand in my resignation at the same time. I am not willing to leave any job without something else lined up, so I won't just walk anyway. This is making me very irritated.
