Think interpreter, like Python, or even Bash, only with a GUI. Now, the up arrow actually moves the cursor up. Any keystroke where you expect a ctrl has an alt: yes, copy is alt-c and, paste is alt-v. Fine, that's not so horrible, it can log your "interactions", as it call them, so when submitting the assignment, I can just paste the relevant sections of the log to show that my proggies work.
I open the log. It's in binary. <censored> binary!
