really. In my uni-time first year physics and IT and mathematics were exactly the same curriculum.
(No, I never had a theoretical schedule of 8 class hours on a single day, but then lab hours did "count" for a theoretical one or two hours, but sometimes I spent half a day + part of the evening in the lab) We didn't even get as much as three classes to choose freely, so a whole bunch of freshmen indeed "didn't WANT to do the physics" (nor the calculus, for that: they just wanted to start writing runnable programs)
Well, almost ALL of them learned that the calculus and (theoretical) physics go hand-in-hand like two lovers: they each facilitate the hard corners of the other.
But if you cannot use that "half credit" as ... an extra on your resume, I understand you don't like the "extra half-credit class" you took to ... reach a minimum.
If you start reaching for a maximum, though, exceeding the minimum requirements, that would give you a very hard year, but one that's enjoyable too.
It 's up to YOU though, and ONLY you, to make the choice and to know your own limits (which is the hardest part) Taking too many classes and exceeding (mental, physical, social) endurance is NOT good, taking the absolute minimum can get really boring so ...
But don't hide: if you are looking for someone to shout at, UF board will be there. It HELPS to shout when you need it. |
