needing only 3-5 years to get ones life back together and move on? I do not know and have never heard of anybody who was able to cope within 3-5 years. I know people who 20 years later still have problems. And even if somebody could "get over it" within 3-5 years, maybe with a lot of counseling, why should the jail sentence be so short, too? I don't see a connection. Let's say there is a family that after 5 years of the murder of one of their relatives has gotten over it and moved on. Should the murderer then be released? I don't see why.
