The moment where Anakin tells Padme, quite honestly, that sometimes a dictatorship, in his mind, would be better for the people. That was brilliant. That type of writing makes it so clear how Anakin was seduced: he honestly had a desire to make things better, twisted out of control by an inability to handle power responsibly.
But then there was the romance. Oh dear God, why, the romance?
"Well, you've been kind of creepily stalking me because you apparently fell in love with me when you were ten, but your complete obsession over me combined with your refusal to accept it when I told you "no" - which I wouldn't have thought surprising since I hardly know you - has totally won me over! Underneath it all I'm just every nerd's fantasy and love your overprotective delusions. Let's have kids."
