Do those numbers come from anywhere? If so, why are prisons releasing them, shouldn't they instead be in a mental hospital?
Also, even if those figures are completely authentic, I'd still question them. Considering the harmful nature of pedophilia, surely most sensible people with pedophilic urges wouldn't engage with children, and wouldn't be considered "pedophiles" for that statistic. So, really, we're only looking at the ones that don't care, and the ones that can't help themselves. In which case I'd say that, "of the people that perform this harmful act, only 1% of them do it from lack of caring about the harm to others"? Would that be valid?
