It came out shortly before FFX, I believe. Or maybe it was shortly before FFIX. Was there an IX? I keep forgetting these things. Anyway, it was to show off what they were capable of graphically and what to expect from their games going forward. But there was a plot. I distinctly remember following a plot. It may have been a weak one, but it was there.
