Ramen and udon are the Japanese equivalents (though I thought ramen was the noodles in soup and udon was the noodles on a plate), and your 'la mian' is probably the closest.

AFAIK Lo Mein is a pretty generic term in the US for any chinese fried noodle dish, with the exception of Mei Fun which uses those thin white rice noodles.
