I think that language (not just English, although it is probably the case you are most familiar with) is wonderful, but it is a product of the human mind; and while language is marvellous in its system of consistencies, exceptions, and arbitriness, one of the things that amazes me about the human mind is the way in which it makes connections -- the read(pres.)/read(past)/red being a case in point.

Oh dash it -- it's all wonderful.
