there is a difference between gonig after a teenager, say 16, and going after a child, say 12 and under. The inbetween years ought to be avoided, but depending ont he child sexual development can be in many places.
16 year olds do have sexual development and hormones going, and in some cases completed, and while their mental development is not complete, it is certianly possible for them to engage in sex, even with an older person without adverse affects. On the other hand anyone over the age of 22 who tagrets teens probably has mental issues of their own, and is incapable of a realtionship with another adult.
Children are NOT sexual beings yet, and intercourse of any kind is almost certainly physicly as well as mentally harmful. To coerce a child into sex with an adult requires a certain amount of twisted skill, or simply force in which case the child ends up dead. The fact that pediphiles are in 99% of cases incapable of stopping themselves indicates that this is not a normal human drive, but a serious mental flaw.
Perhap pedophiles can not help themselves, but then we either lock them away for the safety of the children, or we chemically castrate them, and restrict them to house arrest. There is no cure for pedophilia, and the risk to children is too great to allow them freedom.
And frankly going against society's taboos is harmful. Especially for children. That fact that those taboos change and evolve doesn't mean that going against them is not harmful. |
