as a child? Even if the study in your psych book is correct, that means that 70% do have long term problems. And if the abuse never stops until the child grows up and moves away from the abuser, then the problems will continue to be exacerbated. The former victims often feel guilt if the abuser is a family member and they find that the abuser moved on to another target after they left the abusive environment.
