There are plenty of gay men who live with women, and have sex with them, but do that only to keep up a pretence; whether it be towards society, or towards themselves. That this is possible does NOT mean that we should force gay men (or, for that matter, women) to act as though they're heterosexual.
Paedophilia is, of course, a whole different cup of tea. I'm just saying that the mere fact that people have a second, less-preferred option, does not mean that we should force them to choose that one, just because society does not happen to like the first. If we decide to prohibit the first option, that should be ONLY because of what that first option entails.
I do not believe that all children are immature enough to make such decisions; however, taking care of that should be a case of defining the age of consent in a judicious manner. |
