It's not that so much as being morally deficient, even despicable. I can't otherwise proffer an opinion on this, except to point out that, much like other villified (and not unjustly) sexual activity, this is something that was once acceptable to many societies. Rather disgusting, when you think about it -- but that's the point; It wasn't thought about. Probably, the persons knowledgably involved in these affairs may not be in a mental state to do so, either.
