Call center imposing a salary cap? by theanomaly 2005-02-14 19:17:19
Former policy: raise every 4 months given a certain performance level. People who have been there 3 years or so (including friends of mine) have increased about $2.50 per hour in those 3 years. Now, there is a salary cap of $12 as of this raise period - if you already made more than $12, you get to stay at your salary. Otherwise, you're capped. Heckuva V-Day present, no?

<family guy reference> "Honey, guess who made sales partner..." *frantic monkey screeching* </family guy reference)

No other actions are being taken to compensate employees. My friend just told me about this via MSN, as those given their performance reviews today broke the news. Management has neither confirmed nor denied (apparently) and it's not general knowledge to the employee populace. This is a call center that resides in a smallish BC municipality and boasts >900 people on payroll. Rumour further has it the cap is to directly compete with call centers in India.

Thoughts?
