Regarding my (and other's) complaining about users by rogue1971 2005-02-14 18:28:42
First if you are going to complain about us venting, please indicate if you are yourself tech support, because if you are not then there is NO WAY you can understand what we go through each day.

I think it is reasonable of us to expect customers to have BASIC computer skills before venturing on the internet. As an ISP tech support it is not my job to teach someone how to use a mouse.

If a user does silly thinks like connect the DSL modem the wrong way or dosen't know he/she has to instal our software, I won't complain about that ( although the instructions are VERY clear )

but please understand my frustration when I have to tell a user:

" move the mouse around and look on your screen, the little pointer is moving around, move it so that it is on top of the icon called "connection" right on top of the picture, ok now click twice as fast as you can" ( because if I don't say click twice fast they will click ................ click )

And I SWEAR it HAS happened to me MANY times.

now PLEASE tell me I'm allowed to complain about that? I mean nobody had to teach ME how to use a mouse and I was like 18 when I first used one, it's not like i've been around one my whole life.

ahhhhhh I feel better now

thanks
