Inform the university's security, even if it's just for the record. If you really want to try getting it back, post a reward about the bag, with "no questions asked" upon retrieval. Or set up something so that somehow the bag gets returned to Lost and Found at university's security. i.e. have Lost and Found staff give out the reward if at all possible.
