if you already have the right, good habits (an assumption) then trasitioning to a different sidearm should not be a major problem. Granted, it would take some training to go from a revolver (no manual safety) to a pistol that has a manaual safety, which Glocks don't have. A week just seems a bit long, but the extra trigger time is always a good thing.

Now, if they are taking a person with no training through this, a week might be a bit short.
