I did not use this as an example of why more people should be allowed to have weapons. I did use it as an example as to how NOT to carry a weapon if you are licensed to do so.

My experiences in the firearms field have led me to the conclusion that as a rule law enforcement officers have very poor gun safety skills. The two people I know of personally who have negligently shot themselves while at the shooting range; Police Officers. The next door neighbor who negligently shot his TV and buried a 9mm projectile in my couch... a Police Officer. The sad list of negligent discharges goes on and on. I have seen few from civilians who take firearms as seriously as I do, and those resulted in no injury or serious danger to anyone as rule #1 was being employed. DO NOT point your weapon at something you do not wish to destroy.

This officer was not properly trained in the carrying or use of her personal weapon, or she failed to follow that training. Two weeks at Thunder Ranch for her... IF she keeps her job.
