and - being an ICO file - it won't necessarily work under anything but 'doze. Heck, it's flaky under Windows MSIE.

The only reason it works in FF/Opera is because they've adopted the behaviour to emulate IE. Opera actually has a preference to disable it, because it can cause unnecessary loading slowdowns and 404s for the admin. FF probably has an undocumented one under about:config.
