Last week, I had a meeting with a hardware vendor discussing the expansion of our backup system. Did the whole question and answer thing and asked them to put a quote together. I asked them if there was anymore info they needed, and they said no. Gave them my business card, told them to contact me if they needed anymore info. I started thinking it was odd that I hadn't heard from them yet, and I put it on my list to call them today.
This morning, I get called into the CIO's office, and the same two guys are there doing the same question and answer thing. I do not appreciate things like that.
I was planning, anyway, to get three proposals from three vendors. So all other things being equal, or close enough, I'm putting these guys at the bottom of the list and pushing for either one of the other two. |
