It's legal to commit suicide in most (all?) states, and these people are (as I understand it) considered to be "consenting adults", who have made their decision independently. As long as he wasn't using emotional/physical/economic coercion, the adults are probably assumed to have made the decision freely, hence to assume the responsibility for their deaths. |
