Get the name of the file, then write to your database:
update counters set totals = totals + 1 where page = '$page_request[$count_array] '

it's easier that way to do other things such as get a total from all pages, or quickly sort the most-visited, etc. And have you ever seen a relative counter? "This page gets 9.5% of all visits on this site".
