This quote is often trotted out to deride the philosophical discussions of the medieval schoolmen, but actually it was just a quaint way of addressing comments such as yours. If God is all-powerful, as was the view held by the theology of the day, then the answer is "However many He wills." If God's power is limited, as was suggested in Genesis when he felt obliged to rest on the seventh day, then His power, though unimaginably vast, was not infinite - maybe only a few billion angels, give or take. (Not bad for an athiest, eh?)
He sure as Hell didn't have a union. Six day work week. Harrumph, I say. (Although you don't see TGIF in the Bible. Maybe He is a workaholic.)
Blowing bikes around might be fun though, although a minor Diety like Zephyr would more likely be the sort to engage in such undignified shenanigans. |
