I just watched the "Sticks and Stones" documentary by nix 2005-02-11 19:41:40
on American politics and media.

My $diety, I had no idea it was that bad down there. Some of that stuff O'Reilly & co. were spouting... it defies description. OK, I'm sure that much of what they say is true, if slanted, but still.... It looked like Bill O'Reilly was actually trying to start a fist fight with that guy whose father died in the WTC, right there in his studio. That could have been a page right out of Jerry Springer, except that one party went there with the expectation of a civilized debate, not a brawl. And any person who will make up details and ignore facts like he did with that G&M reporter doesn't deserve the title "journalist". I can't fathom the sort of depravity that that could lead someone to behave like that and spread such utter lies.

And I thought that Chretien & Co's smear campaign against Stockwell Day back in 2000 was nasty. This is in a league of its own. Heck, "smear campaign" isn't a strong enough word for it.

I really feel sorry for any Americans socialists and liberals out there, and even conservatives who don't go along with that sort of politics.
