I've had Motorolla, Cobra, and something else ( can't recall). The Motorollas seem to do better ( i.e. longer range better sound ). Current model is Mototrolla 7100. It has GMRS bands that have up to 7 mile range. The one issue you need to keep in mind is what the wiring is for the microphone/earphone jack. All radios do not have the same . The 7100 model also has scanning so you can keep trackof other channels ( incase you some how have forgotten whar channel others are on. The Cobra model I have also has a compass and weather radio.
