I quite like Ubuntu so far, having really only used Redhat 8 and Mandrake 10/10.1 before.

Mandrake has always been very good to me, though I find it's packaging system annoying: It'll allow you to remove a package whose dependencies really bork the system bad. But, then, I guess one has logged in as root and should know what they were doing anyway... All I wanted to do was free some disk space! I don't need fax programs!

Ubuntu is nice so far, though. Looks like I was wrong about my eth0 -- it /is/ working. And my screen depth was set right, it's just the background that is of lower bit depth, heh.

I retract my original, sleepily annoyed post. :)
