But for NAUI open water certification, that's about right. The beginner thing will only just get your feet wet (no pun intended) and a dive that's 25 feet or less isn't deep enough to really relax and enjoy. When I started, I had a really hard time controlling buoyancy (basically, I couldn't stay underwater), and the problem was really bad when I was at or near a 20 foot depth. I find that the first 15 feet down, it's harder to control, and I'm more likely to feel seasick.

Go for the slightly more experienced package and dive. It'll be worth it, if only because you will be more comfortable and confident, and enjoy the experience that much more.
