You can bet your last dime that's not what Tinsley meant, it's far more likely he's accusing anyone who questioned her integrity of racism. It's usually the crowd on the right who moan about "political correctness" meaning they can't say anything bad about someone because of race or sex, it's a wee bit hypocritical to now say nobody can say a word about Rice because she's black. I think she lied, multiple times, and is not fit for the job, no matter what her race or sex is. I'm glad she was questioned on at least a few of her mistakes and disappointed that she was confirmed anyway.
As for the "humility" thing, Biden said the entire administration should act with "humility as well as force", not just Rice. Of course, that phrase was meant to recall Rice's own words from 2000 that then president-elect Bush would "conduct a foreign policy that combines humility with strength." |
