My "elven senses" have twice discovered an alley in town (once in Central City whose real name I forget, once in Glorfindal). There is a gem at the end of the alley, which you can grab or leave. Both times I've defied my tingling elven senses of danger and grabbed the gem, and both times I've come out of the alley one gem richer.

I wonder what will happen when the karma scales tip the other direction...
