they're not really worth what you pay for them. They're almost the same price as Wusthof or Henckels, but they have several problems:

1) They're stamped instead of forged. Forged knives hold their edge better.

2) The "double-D" edge is only on one side, so the knife cuts crookedly. This is especially noticable if you're left-handed, as the knife is designed to cut straighter with a right-handed person as it cuts to the left, and the right hand somewhat counters it.

3) The straight-edged knives go dull just as quickly (if not more so) as Henckels and Wusthof. My petite chef is all but useless right now. It won't even cut through tomato skins. It's a pain to send them to Olean, NY every few months.

4) The handle material is crap. Its melting point is 235F. That's quite a bit cooler than the average frying pan, so if you put one of their turners on the edge like they're made for, they'll melt. They don't last too long dropped on a burner either, take my word on that. A couple of seconds, and my carving knife's handle was all but useless. The shears were also melted in an accident, and are quite uncomfortable to use.

I still use then, because they're the best knives I have, but I won't buy any more than what came for the demos. I'll be buying Wusthof if I ever need more knives.
