"Windows safer than Linux" by Khaar2006-11-19 12:55:59
I'd go with Windows any date by MikeCDN2005-02-11 09:05:59

Most versions of linux will run on any hardware. "Easier to lock down" are you freaking insane...if you surf the net with windows for 5 minutes, you have adware. If you put your pc with firewall on directly on the internet for 10 minutes you have viruses. LOCK DOWN? how are you going to lock down buffer over flow weaknesses that you don't even know you have. I'd say for the average dummy er user, windows is sufficient, not sure what it is sufficient for but definately not computing. Maybe makes a good market for virus writers and antivirus writers. And please don't try to argue this, you only need to look at any antivirus site to see the virus of the week that is affecting Windows, and what weakness is exploited this week.
