At least not at those levels. That's how they check parts are soldered down on the production line half of the time.

You can get bad sectors in the memory they use, the error checking/correction should normally be enough to catch them and flag the sector as bad without losing any data but these things can always happen.
Best guess is that the power died at some point when it was doing a write or an erase.
